The Wedge: The Spring Shoe

Dahlings, warm weather is finally here and it’s time to consider the most important part of getting spring ready: your shoes. Last summer, strappy heels were the must-haves but this year it seems their wedged relative will take over. And oh boy do I love a wedge! I'm vertically challenged and love what a tall shoe can do for my look, but I hate how uncomfortable a tall heel can be. There's no heel that's easier to walk in than the platform wedge because your weight is evenly distributed throughout the shoe and is not placed on the ball of your foot as in a stiletto so they are much more comfortable and make your legs look a mile long.

And I should warn that if you have skinny ankles, large chunky wedges may not be the best style for you. Chunky shoes or shoes with bulky heels make thin legs and small ankles look smaller and out of balance because the largeness of the shoes overpowers the leg. Just be sure to choose a thinner, slender wedge. For gals with thicker calves and ankles, the chunky wedge helps creates definition and thins out your legs. Rejoice!

While the wedge is being called a must-have this spring, this is one of those items that is a wardrobe staple. So it's worth splurging a little bit for that perfect wedge but keep an eye on a good sale. Always! This season there's an insane range of style options to choose from.
