Tarjay to Debut Jean Paul Gaultier Line

Dahlings, I hinted in a previous post that Jean Paul Gaultier was creating a line for retail behemoth Target. The images of the looks have finally been revealed. Don't let the styling turn you away. I can see how individually the pieces might work. But there are some looks for sure no one, I mean no one should be wearing. Take for instance the snake print leggings. Completely unnecessary and unflattering and really just plain nutty.

There are some lovely pieces that Gaultier fans who can't afford his normal range will be excited to have in their closet –like the yellow adorable dress and that updated classic trench in particular. But the mishmash mix of separates seems to include a lot of stuff that should never have been included in the final line. Ignore the style groupings of these looks and look at the pieces as individual items that you can add to your closet to spruce up your look. Personally I really like the look of the pink floral dress but who knows what the fabric will feel like and what the fit will be. The line debuts March 7 at prices ranging from $17.99 (bikini separates) to $199 (leather jackets). It's going to be in over 250 Target stores across the country and online through April 11.

Gaultier is the third established designer to do a collection for the mass retailer (after Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui) under the Designer Collaboration series. Target asks the designers to choose a muse for their collections and guess who Gaultier chose? Madonna, whom Gaultier has dressed onstage for ages.

What say you Dahlings, will you give it go?? I did hear from a couple of you who picked up a few pieces from the Rodarte collection. Do let me know if you pick up a purchase from Mr. Gaultier's line. I'll certainly keep you posted.
